Jean Terrell, You've Been Gone Too Long

Despite being saddled with the thankless task of filling Diana Ross's high heeled shoes; and in spite of such indignities as sporting cast-off gowns and having to share lead vocals with Mary Wilson, the gloriously talented Jean Terrell (November 26, 1944) had a pretty decent Supreme run: seven Top 40 hits, including the R&B #1 "Stoned Love"; international tours; prime time television exposure; and, in the lean years to come, the everlasting opportunity to cash in on the Supremes' name.

Happy Birthday, Jean Terrell! We hope that no Bad Weather spoiled the Floy Joy of your special day. If you get Stoned, love, you can imagine you've crawled Up the Ladder to the Roof with Nathan Jones to create Automatically Sunshine.
